At Serenity Springs Health & Wellness, we’re proud to be among the few clinics in the region offering access to a groundbreaking, FDA-cleared treatment that’s helping reshape how we approach pain, detox, and long-term recovery.
The Morph Device represents an innovative, opiate-free option for individuals managing withdrawal symptoms, post-surgical discomfort, or chronic neuropathic pain. This gentle, non-invasive therapy uses percutaneous electrical nerve-field stimulation applied to precise points on the outer ear.
Each point corresponds to specific systems within the body, by accessing difference nerve fields following the mappings first developed by Dr. Paul Nogier and refined through clinical research at UCLA in the 1970s.
Discover a New Standard in Pain Relief and Recovery
At Serenity Springs Health & Wellness, we understand that by the time most people reach us, they’ve already tried to break free, often more than once. Traditional detox programs can be harsh, isolating, and sometimes even retraumatizing. Unfortunately this style of program leaves many with PTSD and the fear of going through withdrawal again keeps people in a feedback loop that seems to last forever. Many are built around managing crisis rather than cultivating true recovery by addressing the underlying neurological structural and neurochemical dysfunction that is often simply caused by exposure to opiates to begin with.
Many people have expressed to us that it has been implied that they are weak, have no self control, made to be forever dependent on medication assisted therapy (MAT) as if that is the only choice. MAT has a place in drug addiction and recovery, however implying that it is the only option can be disheartening for many people who want real freedom. Electro acupuncture for detox has been around since the late 1960's, but was not widely accepted due to dogmatic structures and perceptions that exist within medicine. It has taken many years to not only become FDA approved and accepted in the mainstream medical community, but as of 2023 thanks to the NOPAIN Act, accepted by many private insurances and even Medicare. Even with all this many are still skeptical and find it hard to belief that a simple, painless device can take away most of the pain associate with something that has caused so much death, sorrow, and stigma for thousands of years.
Even though the use of opium is documented in ancient Mesopotamia, it was noted all the way back to the time Galen of Pergamon, the physician for Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius, that it caused overuse and dependence. It wasn't until the Persian and Islamic empire that Arabic physicians started making clear warnings in The Canon of Medicine that it destroys strength and caused dependence. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, which culminated in the Opium Wars (1839–1842 and 1856–1860) by the British Empire as an instrument of economic, social, and imperial control. However, for pain control, there was no other way known in the Western World that was widely used. With this technology Eastern and Western medicine have merged for something truly remarkable to treat the root causes for addiction in a way that minimizes suffering and promotes real restoration.
Many people have been made second class citizens, classified as morally and spiritually weak, and even made criminals because their nervous system was hijacked by a chemical that made them lose their capacity to feel pleasure, calmness, and safety for which they were shamed, guilted, and stigmatized in all relationships - though it must be acknowledged that the addict that is in charge during these times often does damage in many ways to their reputation and status in society. When the addiction is reframed as a neurological injury, often caused initially from the pain of an actual injury, instead of moral weakness dignity can be restored. Chronic opioid exposure down-regulates endorphin receptors and natural dopamine release. That means feeling flat, anxious, or unmotivated isn't a character flaw, it is the result of a nervous system in retreat.
Why This Approach Is Different
Most detox methods rely heavily on substitute medications or sedatives to dull symptoms. That can help in the short term, but often it replaces one dependency with another and leaves people feeling disconnected and depleted. The Morph Device represents a gentler, science-driven path that supports both the body and the mind through the process of detox and pain recovery. It’s not another round of withdrawal in a treatment facility or endless medication schedules. It’s a carefully monitored, low-risk approach designed to help your system actually reset, rather than shut down.
Nerve field stimulation on the ear works differently works differently be stimulating cranial nerves to "jump start" the endorphin system again. It uses precise micro-stimulation on the outer ear to activate the body’s natural regulatory systems by encouraging the release of endorphins and enkephalins that calm the nervous system, reduce discomfort, enhance the immune system, restore gut health, reduce neuro inflammation and restore overall balance. Many patients describe a quiet shift: clearer thoughts, lighter emotions, and a body that feels like it’s finally cooperating again.
Because the therapy is non-pharmaceutical and non-invasive, recovery becomes less about surviving detox and more about rediscovering control. It offers people who have struggled before a genuine opportunity to heal without the fear, shame, or side effects that often accompany traditional approaches. Often people with the device have continued work, are still able to be a parent, and participate in duties at home when combined with periods of rest. This makes real treatment more accessible, affordable, and practical.
Customized Care, Every Step
Every treatment at Serenity Springs is personal. From your first consultation, we take the time to understand your history and find out what you’ve tried, what hasn’t worked, and what you need most right now.
A trained provider will design your treatment plan, place the device, and remain in contact throughout your care. You’ll always have access to a nurse for questions and guidance. We combine this process with supportive therapies such as IV vitamin infusions, StemWave therapy for underlying musculoskeletal pain as needed, and lab-based optimization to help your body rebuild naturally. If needed, we also offer guidance and referrals for mental health counseling and even nutrition to help direct you on your path as you restart not only your endogenous endorphin system, but your new way of being.
Because the Morph Device works by encouraging the body’s own regulatory systems, many patients find the experience calm and restorative, with minimal interruption to daily life.
Safety Information - Eligibility

• Have an active ear infection or untreated eczema on the outer ear
• Have hemophilia or are taking blood-thinning medication
• Are pregnant (note: the therapy is FDA-approved for post-cesarean pain management but not for use during pregnancy)
During your consultation, we’ll review your full medical background to determine if this treatment is suitable for you.
Why It Matters
With opioid-related dependence and overdose remaining a nationwide concern, and more deaths associated with opiates than all world wars combined, people deserve safer, more natural approaches to healing. The Morph Device provides a path that is non-pharmaceutical, evidence-based, and focused on supporting the body’s own capacity to adapt and recover. This is real. Are you ready?
